Dear Kazi Nasir:
Assalamu alaykum. Your great father is one of the few people who had the most influence on me. I knew him since 1951 when I took a Logic course at B. M. College. I heard his name before that date as the first Muslim of our area to have completed a Master’s degree. He was one of the wisest men I have ever met. He was a true Philosopher often thoughtful, calm, speaking slowly and clearly enunciating every word. My dream was to follow his footsteps. Hence, I studied and taught Philosophy at the University of Dhaka. Later I did my Ph. D. in Sufi Philosophy at McGill University, Canada again in the field of study that your father liked.
Your father loved me very much. Whenever I went to Bangladesh, I visited him as soon as I arrived in Barisal. In 2009 I could not visit him soon after my arrival in Barisal. Someone must have given him the news that I was in town. Lo and behold he was at the door of the house of my uncle Elemuddin Ahmed early next morning. I apologized to him for not having come to visit him earlier. His picture attached herewith was taken that morning. May Allah give him peace.
